Easy to unfold, I was careful (probably over careful due to the big warning about getting your fingers hurt while opening the wire part of the basket), but it was actually easy, no sudden POP. Just use your brains ;). The lining is neat with it's little handles, and thick enough to provide padding for my little dog, as well as some short term insulation if I get some frozen food from the store. It is not very big, but enough to put a couple items in it AND it does fit (although barely) my little dog which is about 8 pounds or so (Maltese cross). She seemed to enjoy being in it and didn't move at all while I rode the scooter around at super slow speed (3mph). Safety first. I had to rebend the metal hooks a little to be able to fit the scooter better, but it is stable after you strap it around the scooter neck. My only complaint is the zipper seem thin and a bit fragile, so I am not sure it will last, and will be very gentle with it when I do use the zipper (which will not be very often as I will mostly use the basket wide open). I am happy with this purchase and recommend it - IMPORTANT NOTE: scootering with a pet is not recommended, cause if your dog moves you will take a header if riding a scooter, probably LOL and might injure your pet. So I would recommend using it on a bicycle instead if you want to put a pet in it (and tether the pet and RIDE SLOWLY!!!!.)

    The ONWAY Bike Basket for Women arrived just about the same time as the COVID-19 virus so I have not had a chance to ride bicycle. However, this basket, with it's zippered, insulated liner is the perfect size for my bike. It easily unfolds, comes with simple instructions, easy to install and though mine anchored permanently, can be easily taken off as well. Not big enough for a pet carrier (perhaps Chihuahua or Toy Breed or very small Miniature) and openings in mesh too wide for feet.... Great for phone, purse, books, bottled water, etc.
    Seller was very responsive to a couple of questions. Kept me informed of shipping, tracking, etc. though Amazon provides as well but it was a nice touch from the seller. Positive purchase.

    The metal components are very strong and well-made. The padded/insulated liner is very well-made as well. It works perfectly for its intended use of carrying our 11 pound (Imperial) Shih Tzu on our Bike excursions. A full sized 13 pound Shih Tzu would be a bit cramped. The Liner has a nice zippered top with soft carry handles and the sewn in padding does a very good job of keeping it’s shape with her in the Metal basket or out. Well worth the money. Do you read the instructions first or you will probably get your finger pinched when opening the Metal basket.

    1. CAREFUL -- the basket is spring-loaded!! I ended up smashing my fingers several times just trying to open it because I didn't realize it was spring-loaded until my fingers were trapped in various spots.

    2. There are also NO instructions sent with this item. (Perhaps then I may have read that the basket was spring-loaded.)

    3. The package/ item STINK TO HIGH HEAVEN! I've had my apartment windows open for several hours and I can still smell the gross smell. Awful.

    4. More importantly, the basket does not "fit" my bike because the dimensions on the product page/description are wrong. When the basket hangs from the handlebars it touches the tire -- can't ride a bike while the basket it touching the tire, can we?

    WOULD NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL! Only redeeming quality about this is the fact that it comes with a matching bag which is quite convenient -- just wish I could use the damn product!

    The frame started rusting right away, but I am giving it 5 stars for the way the seller handled my issue. I painted it with a quality implement paint and I think that will do the trick. The bag does indeed have a robust odor; but I hung it on a cloths line for a couple days (outside) and that too did the trick and took care of the smell. The spring loaded frame got my fingers also...you can't say the springs don't have quality strength LOL.
