I ordered these shifters after my new bike came one defective shifter. The product was just as pictured, feels better than my original and works perfectly. Installation was very easy. What I was most impressed with was that the tip of the cable came soldered which is really good to work with. Overall, this is a great product and I would recommend it to anyone.

For $15, these got the job done perfect. They are by no means high quality, but they function just fine. I took the plastic covers off and squirted some wd-40 inside before their first use and I will end up throwing some grease inside the shifting mechanism, which is me just doing over kill to get the most out of them.

They came with tons of gear shift cable but no brake cables.

I used these shifters / brake handle to replace the ones on my 80’s mountain bike. I’ll see how long they last, but they change the derailleurs just fine for $15

My son was always complaining about the gripshifters on his mountain bike. They hardly worked anymore and mostly only if you manually pulled the cable and then took up the slack with the gripshifters. We decided to upgrade to combination thumb shifter/brake levers. The bike itself was a cheap purchase from Goodwill and I didn't want to put too much money into it so we got this set. They were easy to install and in fact my son did it himself with just little help from me. He was so happy that first bike ride after when he could shift up and down his whole gear set. And not sure if it was the brake levers or just the fact that we replaced pads and made some little adjustments, but his braking was so much more effective as well.

The two shifters come with pre-installed shifter cables, no brake cables. The rear 7-speed shifter worked fine, was easy to install, although I had to stretch the clamp a bit to get it on. The front 3-speed shifter came in defective and would not work at all. You get what you pay for on the build quality. My advice - spend the extra $45, get the real Shimano shifters.

I've figured out everybody's problem.

These shifters are great quality and shift well. HOWEVER, the 3 speed shifter will get stuck/locked on the 1 speed if you shift downwards in 1 speed. This can be temporarily fixed by unbolting the plastic plate on top and moving over the paw upwards which frees the system. Then it will allow it to shift up to 3 and back down properly.

The defect is when you shift down from 1 speed because it will get stuck there. This is a major product defect because you will often shift down many times to ensure you use all the clicks on a bike ride. These are promising shifters/brake levers, but since I bought two, and they had the same issue, they are defective in that sense.

It may be possible to loosen a bolt in there to make it to where it doesn't get stuck into that position. For now, that is the only temporary fix if you plan on never accidentally shifting down from 1 which is nearly impossible. If you are looking into buying shifters, the best 3x7 speed shifters I've bought are sunrace triggers shifters or MicroShift 3x7 grip shifters.

The brake-shifter assemblies arrived very fast and were very easy to install, I bought them to use with a new, more upright riding position handlebars; as I’m getting older, my back is starting to suffer the strain of riding a road bike. the included shifter cables look good quality, just time can tell. My only comment would be They are NOT Professional grade as advertised. It looks like the high end ones but up shifting can be a thumb workout. In general good Value for the low price you pay.
