Comfortable and affordable
So far so good with this seat! Please note if you are using this seat for an older Schwinn restoration, you will need to take the seat post hardware from your old seat and use it instead of what is sent.

Purchased this seat to replace the small "BMX" style seat that came on my daughters bike. It's not as "soft" as the set on my beach cruiser, but she loves it, says its comfortable and we can now go on our family bike rides without her butt getting sore. Side note, my daughter is 4' 9" and about 100lbs.

When I bought my Huffy Catalina 26" bike, I loved it. Its seat was comfortable. The problem was, though, that the hardware elevated it so much that even at the lowest level, I wasn't able to touch my toes to the ground. For a while, I took the hardware off the bottom and put it directly on my bike's back end, but the problem with that is the back end can only support 22 lbs, and my torso weighs more. It scratched the bike, and I noticed the back end was bending. Worried that this would eventually break it and cause a riding hazard, finding a bike seat that would fit on the post but allow my feet to touch the ground became a priority.

I was thrilled when this seat fit the bill. I can now ride on the seat post like I'm supposed to. Even though this product is from a different maker, it did fit my seat post. It was very easy to install.

My feelings, though, are mixed for the following reasons:

    1) I am worried that the bottom hardware is made of a flimsier material and might eventually break.

    2) I don't know if I failed to tighten the screw all the way, or whether it started to loosen while I was riding. While it wasn't so bad that it endangered me, I do wonder if this will be an issue--and whether I will have to constantly tighten it.

    3) The seat is as hard as a rock, but oddly enough in some ways it was more comfortable because it didn't put as much pressure on my butt. However, with prolong riding, it did put pressure on my female parts. Those parts actually can take the pressure better than my butt, but still I worry about problems that might develop from long riding. I might add that I also had a gel seat cover over the seat--and it was still hard.

    4) My gel seat cover actually does fit much better on this seat. This seat is smaller than my old seat and easier to fit. I did feel a little insecure because I felt like I could fall off the back, but this wasn't the case.

I probably will continue the quest for a comfortable seat that can be on my bike post--but probably I'll have to go more expensive to have the right fit and comfort. For the money I spent, I'm just happy that this fit the bike. It showed me that I can ride on the post and control my bike with the right seat. Actually, when I'm riding on the post like I'm supposed to, I feel like I have more control over my bike...so I'm glad to have the seat for this reason. I was surprised that I'm using different muscles in my legs now that I'm riding differently, so this caused some discomfort that should pass.

I'll provide updates if anything else change.

I bought this seat to replace the hard liitle seat on my son's 16" bike. It's like sitting on hard a rock. He loves his new seat! He says it's super comfortable and loves how much larger it is than his old one. It's very cushy and the quality is great. I would buy it again.

This seat feels great and at first feel very firm but it will become much more "foam like" after breaking it in. Yes, there are other seat similar for a lower price but there are also similar ones at a much higher price. The seat works as designed. It does look larger than most seats especially on my bike, a Schwinn 20-Inch Loop Folding Bike. The main thing is comfort and if it requires a seat that is larger than most, so be it. Also the price is fair for a seat with quality like Schwinn.

I love this seat cover! I have a Schwinn Cruiser Perla and it fits perfectly! I think this is as close to having a cushy ride as you are going to get. I also wear the padded biking shorts or pants and the combination makes it fairly comfortable. I'm enjoying biking more than I ever have!

I purchased this seat from Amazon and as usual, fulfillment was great! Then, I installed the seat and began riding. I do about 8 miles per day on flat to gentle hill bike trails for exercise. The seat was pretty comfortable UNTIL, I hit a SMALL bump in the trail on my suspension MTB last week and the seat up. I came down with full weiforce onto the top tuibe of the bike and and crashed. When I say blew up, I mean there were seat parts all over the place.

What appeared to happen during the catastrophic failure of this poorly and inadequately designed product was the attachment rails that fit into the seat post clamp bent down in front of the clamp when my weight came down on it going over the small bump (less than 2 inches). This bending, in turn, put undue pressure on two plastic attachment posts at the saeat's rear breaking them at the ends of the attaching screw. This detached the poly foam seat itself from it's metal attaching rails. The two posts connecting the rails to the seat are held by VERY SHORT screws going into the posts less than 1/2 of their length. The sheer point was a full inch below the bottom of the poly seat moulding.

Theese 2 posts appear to be molded directly into the seat and are only about a half inch diameter each and are hidden from view. They are essentially plastic cylinders 1 1/2" - 2" long that capture the screw with a wall thickness of only an eight to a quarter inch at most. CLEARLY NOT ENOUGH STRUCTURAL STRENGTH to maintain structural integrity when stressed. As I mentioned, the undersized posts are NOT VISIBLE because they are surrounded by two rubber bumpers presumably designed to absorb shock (clearly not functional). The rails also are not made of material strong enough to function as designed as they bent down so easily at the front. They appear to be cold steel rather than tougher stainless or magnesium allow that would resist bending.

The injury I sustained to my perineum and spine has not yet resolved and I am considering legal remedies for all the discomfort, pain and distress caused by this faulty product. This seat's inadequate design is NOT SAFE and certainly NOT DURABLE. IF YOU VALUE YOUR HEALTH, DO NOT BUY THIS SEAT.
